Full Recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegan cheddar cheese shreds

  • 4 oz canned diced jalapeños (drained)

  • 1/4 cup vegan cream cheese

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened dairy-free milk

  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)

  • 2 cups neutral oil for frying

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine vegan cheddar cheese, jalapeños, and vegan cream cheese until fully incorporated.

  2. Add garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Mix well.

  3. Use your hands to shape the mixture into small squares or bite-sized rectangles. Place them on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for 30 minutes.

  4. Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with dairy-free milk, and one with breadcrumbs.

  5. Dip each frozen queso square into the flour, then the milk, and finally the breadcrumbs. Press gently to coat well.

  6. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.

  7. Fry the coated queso bites in small batches for 2–3 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.

  8. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  9. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
