  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • ½ cup butter, softened

  • ¾ cup sugar (add a bit more if you like sweeter cupcakes)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line muffin cups with papers.

  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Make sure the butter is room temperature to avoid clumping.

  4. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Beat well, then stir in vanilla essence.

  5. Divide the batter evenly among the cups and bake for about 18 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  6. Let the cupcakes cool in the pans before serving.
